GET THE EDGE – DAY 6– YOUR WAY TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM – THE POWER OF COMPOUNDING

Decide, deduct and dare to dream!

page83image5855152

Step 1:

Decide how you’re going to allocate your assets. Determine the percentage of your income that you will invest, and determine how you will split it between security and growth.

I’m going to invest 5% of my income.

I’m going to split my investments in this ratio (for example, 50/50 or 60/40): Security bucket: 100%
Growth bucket: 0%

Step 2:

Make it a must for you. Write a paragraph or two about why you must be wealthy and what it will do for you, your family and your future. What will it give you? Who will you be? What will you do with your wealth?

If I have wealth, then I will only do the things that artistically satisfy me, that I feel serve me and the world.  I will have more resources to help people. My wealth will let Lizzie retire whenever she wants, and Dot will be free to do what she wants. It will allow us to have experiences beyond compare. I will be a changer of lives. I

Step 3:

Start making your plan. Write down the steps you must take to begin or improve your investing strategy.

  • Decide on my levels of wealth (25x annual income)
    • $1.6M
    • $2.4M
    • $3.6M
  • Find extra sources of income:
    • Acting
    • Hosting
    • Composing
    • Online business
    • Teaching
    • Comedy
    • Trading
  • Make steps towards these incomes.

Step 4:

Never leave the scene of a decision without taking some action. Choose two of the items you listed in Step 3 and do them today. Make a note of what you did:

Sent potential scripts to Zoe.

Wrote a backing track on GBand

GET THE EDGE – DAY 5– THE POWER OF EMOTIONS – YOUR CALL TO ACTION

Let’s start using the 6 Steps and the 10 Action Signals we’ve learned in this session.

Step 1: For the next two days, notice any negative or disempowering feelings that come up and go through the 6 Steps. Record your progress below.

Negative emotion: How I handled it

I was frustrated by the lack of progress in a number of things at work.  Using the steps I:

  1. Identified the emotion of frustration.
  2. Clarified that the emotion is trying to tell me that there are certain things over which I have no control.  I need to change from "they don't care" to "They are overwhelmed".
  3. I really want to feel that this gives me the opportunity to do some independent work readying me for when they are ready to help.
  4. Remembered the times that I HAVEN'T been attached to one particular thing, and how that has made me MORE productive.
  5. I can handle this emotion by letting go, and moving on.
  6. I took action by owning the feeling, and moving on.page77image1678112

Step 2: Make a list of all the things you can do to make yourself feel good.

  • Exercise
  • Meditate
  • Make contact with someone that I love
  • Cook
  • Listen to Music
  • Eat something that I enjoy
  • Read
  • Have a bath!
  • Give thanks
  • Chat with an animal.
  • Take a heart based breath

Step 3: For each of the 10 Action Signals you learned in this session, develop a new belief that will help you avoid getting stuck in these emotions.

Disempowering Emotion

Examples:

Overwhelm Disappointment

My New Belief

“This too shall pass” or “The best is yet to come.” There’s always a way if I’m committed.

1. Uncomfortable

This means that I'm growing!

2. Fear

Big progress is on the other side.

3. Hurt

They are doing the best they can with what they have

4. Anger

This has broken my rules

5. Frustration

There's a time for everything

6. Disappointment

I haven't yet seen the purpose in this result. Everything happens for me!

7. Guilt and regret

Forgive yourself, and move foreward

8. Inadequacy

I am enough. I'll never be given more than I can handle

9. Overloaded, overwhelm, hopelessness, depression

Just one thing at a time - it's a cinch by the inch!

10. Loneliness

I am never truly alone.

GET THE EDGE – DAY 4 – PURE ENERGY LIVE! THE KEY TO A STRONG, HEALTHY & VITAL LIFE

I must admit, this particular day really resonated with me the first time I heard it.  I have aimed to keep alkaline in my diet, always eating at least twice the amount of protein in vegetables.  The effect of emotions was a good reminder though

Step 2: Interrupt destructive patterns that don’t serve you.

Write down at least three destructive patterns in which you’ve been engaging. Come up with one

or two ways to interrupt each pattern the next time it arises.

Destructive Pattern

Example: I often get angry.

Pattern Interrupts

When I begin to feel angry, I will take five deep breaths and list at least three things I’m grateful for in my life.

I get worried about moneyWhen I get worried, I will remind myself of three sources of money to which I have access.
Breathe! One breath at a time.
I get frustrated with the people who manage me.I ask myself "how can I grow through this.
I say "this is not happening to me, it's happening for me
Breathe! One breath at a time.
I get impatient with my progressI remind myself that everything has so far happened at the right time.
Breathe! One breath at a time.

Step 3: Provide your body with its vital needs.

Write a paragraph or two describing why you are now committed to providing your body with the things it needs. What will it give you? What has not doing this up until now caused you to miss out on or lose in your life?

I am committed to provide my body with what it needs, because I know that when I do I am much happier, healthier and more energetic.  Sometimes I have strayed off track, especially putting things off for tomorrow, which never comes. NOW is the time to act and get the result.

It has always been the instantaneous actions that have provided me with the best results.

  • has her own friends 10
  • lets me have my friends 10
  • we have friends together 10
  • Is abundant 9
  • has a sense of humour 10
  • doesn't hold grudges 10
  • Open 8

My Mate From Hell - Jealous*, addicted*, drama queen, carries emotional baggage into our relationship*, isn't her own person.

I would need to be:

  • allows her space and friends
  • maintain a sense of abundance
  • forgiving
  • in the present
  • funny, and happy to be amused
  • Be open.

Your Assignment

  1. First learn to love yourself. For the next seven days, take two minutes each morning to look in the mirror and repeat, “I love you [your name], I love you [your name]...” Tell yourself the specific reasons you love yourself. Write down some reasons here.

I am a lovely, kind, loving, beautiful human being.

  2. If you’re in a relationship, make an action plan for taking it to the next level. Make a list of things you can do to enhance your relationship.

Tell Lizzie that I love her.  BE all of the things that I want from her.  Plan special moments every day.  Be kind and patient and humorous every day.  See what she needs and give her MORE than she asks for.

GET THE EDGE – DAY 2 – THE POWER OF RELATIONSHIPS (PART 1: PASSION, CONNECTION & LOVE)

You can’t give to other people what you haven’t learned to give yourself. Write at least 10 things you can do to show how much you love yourself.

  1. Do my 15 minutes to thrive, including thanking myself for my talents.
  2. Look myself in the eye 2 minutes of compliments.
  3. Be generous towards myself.
  4. Genuinely accept compliments.
  5. Back myself when 'selling'
  6. Write DAILY in my journal.
  7. Give myself an hour a day for personal development.
  8. Exercise.
  9. Meditate with full intention.
  10. Constantly improve my great sleep hygiene routine.

Your Assignment

Begin closing the gap by describing where you are and where you want to be.

page65image3729504

1.Where are you in your intimate relationship? Which scenario best describes the current state of your intimate relationship? Wherever you are, be honest. Honesty will bring you clarity.

2)  Love is there, but not enough passion.

2. Whether you’re in a relationship or not, describe what your ideal relationship would be like. What would you do together? How would you have fun? What would it be like to be physically, emotionally and spiritually intimate the way you truly want to be? What do you (or would you) have in common? Would you have children? If so, how would you raise them? Even if you’re already in a great relationship, what more do you want?

We would travel, eat, make love. It would be entoxicating to be intimate. We would come together to thrive, allowing each other to have fun and thrive alone and together.  Each year would have more fucks than Sundays.

GET THE EDGE – DAY 1 – RESULTS WORKSHOP – 7 KEYS TO CHANGING ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE... TODAY!

Exercise: How do you rationalize?

What are the most common reasons you fail to do things? What stories do you tell yourself? List at least five rationalizations you use for not following through:

  1. I don't have time.
  2. Now is not the time.
  3. It will take me away from time with loved ones.
  4. It's just ego making me want it.
  5. I'm being Unreasonable.

Exercise: Let’s Get Honest

  1. What are you unhappy about in your career, your business, yourself, your rationalizations?

Write down some things that disturb you right now.

I’m disturbed about my current financial situation, with us currently going backwards whilst Lizzie doesn't work

2.  What are you committed to doing instead? Decide what new Result you want, then write why (your Purpose) you are committed to obtaining this result.

Result: I am now committed to creating a financial situation that makes us immune from either of us losing our income.  I am committed to this because this will give us the freedom to CHOOSE our jobs without financial pressure.  So that we NEVER go backwards again.

Step 3: Create a Massive Action Plan (MAP)
It’s time to “draw the MAP.” To make sure you follow through, come up with a list of actions that will absolutely produce results.

  • Talk to Lizzie about it.
  • Create a better budget.
  • Find extra sources of income.
  • Live abundantly.
  • Develop passive income flows
  • Commit to things with absolute belief.

Exercise: Old Beliefs, New Beliefs
Write down all the old beliefs that have kept you from following through on your goal in the past.
  • I can't do it.
  • Lizzie and I are too different.
  • I don't have the resources.
  • It will take too long to be worth it.
  • I don't have the talent.
  • I'll never be truly financially free.

Write down the new beliefs that will empower you from this point forward.

  • Because I always follow through, I always make my dreams come true.
  • Lizzie is open to listening.
  • I have a multitude of resources - I just need to be resourceful.
  • SO long as I progress in the right direction, the universe will meet me more than half way
  • When we work together, we are unbeatable!

Exercise: Enhance the Experience

Come up with two or three ideas that can help you look forward to doing the things that will get your result. What can you focus on, pay attention to, notice, appreciate or enjoy that will enhance the experience?

  • Keep the end in mind.
  • Celebrate and give thanks for every little victory!
  • Always have splurge/smile money.

Exercise: Big Action, Little Action
What are two actions you can take immediately to get yourself going?

  • Little - talk to Lizzie
  • Big  - Recheck budget.
